NEW YORK — Disney has announced that the sequel to its hit animated movie “Avenger” will include a scene from “Star Wars.”
The film, which is due out on Dec. 18, is the latest in a line of Disney-related releases that feature a scene or two from the sci-fi blockbuster franchise.
The new movie will not feature Luke Skywalker, who is portrayed by Anthony Mackie in the original film, but instead features a sequence from the Star Wars prequel “Return of the Jedi.”
Disney, which has released a slew of new movies, will make “A-Force: Battle for the Core,” which stars Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley’s Aunt Beru in the rebooted franchise, available in select theaters on Dec 16.
Disney is also planning to release the original “A Force Awakens” in select territories for the first time in over a decade.
